Analysis of the solar wind driving of the magnetosphere during October-November 2003 superstorms
Petrukovich A.A.,

Four large magnetic storms of October-November, 2003 were characterized by a number of unique features, in particular, very high solar wind speed and extremely intense auroral and ring currents. We investigate the general magnetosphere reaction during these storms, attempting to understand whether its response to this unusual driving could be explained within the limits of current knowlegde or new significant effects should be searched for.
