October 2003 Solar-Terrestrial Storms: Solar Sources and Near Earth Interplanetary Disturbances
Ivanov K.G., Kharshiladze A.F., Romashets E.P.,

Dynamics of solar sources responsible for series of solar-terrestrial disturbances in October-November 2003 is considered on the basis of models describing configuration, structure and dynamics of open global solar magnetic field. For each interplanetary event during the period the corresponding solar source was found. Analysis showed that most of geoeffective solar structures were located close to main zone of active longitudes and its vicinity, mostly eastward. Data from near Earth orbit spacecraft is used for recovery of MHD structure of corresponding disturbances at 1 AU. The difference between those born close to IMF sector boundary and far from it is discussed.
